CCIRN WG Meeting 1999 (during IETF in Oslo)

* MBone WG  Contact:Kevin Meynell

 - Announcement

 Dear Colleagues,

Apologies for the late notification about this, but the CCIRN mailing lists
have been down for the past couple of weeks. I think some of you heard
about this through word of mouth anyway.
It has been a while since the last meeting of the CCIRN Mbone Working
Group, but a number of developments have taken place since then. The joint
TERENA/DANTE TF-TANT group is currently planning to establish a dedicated
multicast network over TEN-155 (the pan-European academic backbone) that
will hopefully improve the facilities within Europe. We would however, like
to coordinate this activity with similar activities in the Internet2, APAN
and other networks.
The CCIRN Mbone group is probably the most appropriate forum to discuss
these issues, so we would like to schedule a meeting during the Oslo IETF.
I propose to hold this on Monday, 12 July between 17.30 and 19.30 (this
doesn't clash with any other sessions). An agenda will be circulated shortly.

Regards,

 - Agenda

 Dear Colleagues,

I have drafted the following agenda for the CCIRN Mbone Coordination
meeting (Chaired by Roberto Sabatino of DANTE). I believe the aims of the
meeting are to exchange information on the topologies and plans for the IP
multicast backbones in the CCIRN member networks (Abilene, TEN-155, APAN,
CANET and others) and define how these might be efficiently interconnected.
Of course, there may be other goals which can also be discussed.
Incidentally, will anyone from CANARIE be coming to this meeting?

Regards,

Kevin Meynell
