I have libreadline4.3-4 installed, and I think the relevant library file is /lib/ Any suggestions? Are independent variables really independent? Does readline/readline.h exist in that path? (eg, /usr/include/readline/readline.h). In the case of readline, that would likely be libreadline-dev I think (which is itself probably a metapackage that currently pulls in libreadline6-dev).
