A Brief History of CCIRN
1987
Formation of CCIRN between North America and Europe was discussed
during Academic Networkshop in Princeton, and the first CCIRN Meeting
was held in Washington, D.C. immediately after the workshop.
1988-1991
CCIRN held two meetings per year, and regional ccirn groups were
formed; EuroCCIRN and North American CCIRN
1992
CCIRN decided to hold the general meeting once a year.
Asia-Pacific joined CCIRN formerly with formation of APCCIRN
whose name was subsequently changed to APNG
1995
Observers from Africa joined CCIRN
1996
4 working groups were formed; caching, mbone, measurement and security.
1997
Latin America & Caribbean joined CCIRN, and ENRED represents the
continent.
1998
Special working group on QoS formed.
